Kyera Coleman - 13 years old - Basketball
Hi my name is Kyera Coleman and I am 13 years old. I am an honor student at Kelly Lane Middle School, while taking advanced placement classes. I was a member of Robotics my 5th and 6th grade years. I was chosen to compete and medaled in the Robotics Competiton as part of the mind storming team, building materials and software, and exploring math, science and engineer concepts. I also worked on designing, constructing and programming robotic devices that solve real world problems.
I am very passionate about basketball, playing my 7th grade year at Kelly Lane Middle School and 3 years of summer AAU basketball with the Central Texans Heat. In 2007 I participated in the Adidas Phenom Camp and was invited to the National Adidas Phenom Camp in California. This summer I received a medal for the Most Improved Player. I have also had the privilege of being trained under Edwina Brown for the past 3 years.
Recent Accomplishments:
• Honor Roll
• Advanced Placements Classes
• Phenom Camp
• Most Improved Player
• Robotics
My goal is to receive both an athletic and academic scholarship, with a dream of playing for either Texas Tech or Tennessee, and then on to the WNBA.
Troi Swain - 13 years old - Volleyball, Basketball and Track
I am Troi Swain originally from California, residing in Austin, Texas since 3rd grade. I am entering the 8th grade this school year, however, before finally reaching the “Big Girl” on campus status, I have always maintained good grades and stayed active in school. I consider myself to be a well-rounded Student-Athlete as I am an honor roll student on the accelerated team.
I was 1 of 30 students selected to participate in a science camp this summer and chosen one of Deer Park’s Ranger Leader’s to escort the incoming 6th graders around the campus, answer questions and concerns they may have had and helped them feel comfortable with their new environment. I am the teacher’s aide for my former 7th grade coach this year, and have been approved to start the first Hip-Hop Dance Club at my school.
I play volleyball, run track and play basketball for my school. This Summer I played for a select basketball team, the Central Texans Heat where I was under the wings of Coach Dennis Coleman and was blessed to come in contact with Coach Edwina Brown.
Recent Accomplishments:
I aspire to accept a full scholarship and play basketball for an accredited 4 year University. Although I am just beginning my 8th grade year, I plan to take my success as a very active Student-Athlete to another level so pray for me and keep watching!!

Kofi Asante - 14 years old - Basketball & National Honors Society
Hello, my name is Kofi Asante, and I am an incoming freshman to Hendrickson HS. Last year I graduated with straight A's in all honor classes, along with completing many hours of volunteer work and serving my school as the student council president. In the summer of my 7th grade year, I was blessed with a 5 year scholarship to the C-5 leadership program otherwise known as Camp Coca-Cola. As an 8th grade student, I attended countless National Junior Honor Society meetings and was inducted into the National Congressional Leadership Council.
I am exceptionally passionate about basketball, however, my true ambitions are to attend Harvard University and lead them to the NCAA tournament. As a Christian, I always try to encourage others to be all they can be and a great way to make that happen is through a club called FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes). I am currently listed at 6'2" and will be turning 15 in December.
Thank You Ms. Brown for your time, and God Bless!
